Kitchen & Home Appliances

1.

How do I calculate the CFM needed for my Kitchen hood?

You can calculate the CFM three ways

By stove size: (Stove width / 12”) x 100

By room size: Length ft x Width ft x Height ft

By stove BTU’s: Total Stove BTU’s / 100.

2.

How high should I mount my hood above my stove?

The typical thumb rule is anywhere between 28-36", however given the kitchen space, it may vary.

3.

What is the width of the kitchen hood that I need for my installation?

For wall-mounted indoor installations, the kitchen hood will need to be the same width as the cooktop/hob top you are installing it over. For island-mounted installations and outdoor kitchenhoods, we suggest going up a size in width. For islands, a larger size will allow for the hood to efficiently catch the grease and smoke rather than going around the sides of the hood. For outdoor hoods, grills produce much more grease and smoke - so the addition of a larger hood will be preferred to operate successfully.

4.

What is the depth of the kitchen hood that I need for my installation?

It is recommended to cover at least 100% of back burners and 50% of front burners.

5.

How do I clean the baffle filters of my kitchen hood?

Always check with the instruction manual of your product first, but typically, they can be taken down and washed in the dishwasher or with soap in warm water.

6.

How do I vent my kitchen hood?

If you have a ducted kitchen hood you will need to run your chimney to the top of your ceiling containing your ventalation, and run it outside. If you have a ductless kitchen hood then your range hood will safely recirculate that air back into the kitchen.

7.

How do we do Care & Maintenance of Hobs?

Daughson provides an easy to maintain product that requires minimal care. The burner is easy to assemble and clean. In case of spillage and pore blocking, soaking the burner is all that needs to be done. Furthermore, spilled food won’t burn on the hob, making its surface easy to clean.

8.

Why is efficiency important?

Energy-efficient cooking is an essential aspect that individuals need to keep in mind these days. Being efficient not only has a significant impact on your monthly bills but also enables you to work towards making the environment greener and cleaner. This means not only making specific changes in your everyday cooking process but also investing in energy efficient cooking appliances.

Daughson Hob Tops are very high in efficiency. They consume 12% less fuel compared to any regular brass burner of equivalent power output. Their vertical flame completely eliminates the heat loss from the sides of the burners when pots are placed. This can significantly reduce the amount of energy and fuel you use for cooking.

9.

What does kettle mean? What is kettle used for?

An electric kettle is a metallic vessel used for heating water and making hot beverages. A quality kettle such as the ones from Daughson appliances will help you boil water for brewing herbal teas, cooking soups and instant noodles, and preparing ready to eat oats.

10.

What is the best kettle to buy? How do I choose a kettle?

Daughson Electric Kettles are one of the top-notch models in the market today. To choose a quality kettle, you will need to check if it offers you a good capacity to boil water, excellent filters, temperature display, and adequate safety features

11.

How do you clean the bottom of a kettle?

Water contains minerals and as the water boils, some of those minerals get left behind and fall to the bottom of the kettle. After the water is boiled over and over in the kettle, this limescale will build upon the heating element and cause your kettle to be super inefficient.

To clean the bottom of the kettle of all limescale, simply add a solution made of equal parts water and distilled white vinegar until it is halfway full. Bring to a boil and then allow the boiled vinegar-water mixture to sit in the kettle for 15 or 20 minutes. Pour off the mixture and rinse the kettle. If there is still some leftover limescale inside the kettle, you can use the rough side of a sponge to remove it.
